An antenna apparatus (20) has improved gain, and its characteristics are barely affected by changes in the external environment in which it used, such as when it is placed close to a ground conductor. A surface-mount antenna (5) and a monopole antenna (23) are fed by a single feeding point, and the direction of an open end of the surface-mount antenna (5), taking a ground end of a radiation electrode (11) as a reference, runs opposite to the direction of the open end (23b) of the monopole antenna (23), taking the feeding terminal (23a) as a reference.
