The coupling (5) comprises two complimentary sleeve parts (8, 9) releasably secured together by a bolt (15) to form a cavity (12) for at least one chain link piece (13). A bearing (17) at the top end of the sleeve includes a central tube (19) for mounting it on an apparatus frame. A pivot coupling for fastening a chain (6) assembled from link pieces, preferably forming part of a sport or play apparatus, comprises an elongated sleeve divided into two complimentary parts by a central length surface (11). The two parts can be coupled together to define a cavity for receiving at least one of the link pieces at one end of the chain, and the cavity includes an opening for the chain to pass through in its length direction. The two parts are releasably coupled together by a threaded bolt which can be unscrewed from the outside of the coupling and extends through the cavity and the link piece inside it. The top end of the sleeve is provided with a rotary bearing having a central tube. An opening in the central tube is used to mount the coupling in the apparatus. An Independent claim is also included for a coupling between the above apparatus and coupling device, the apparatus having two fastener eyelets (3, 4) with aligned holes for receiving a bolt or pin passed through the bearing sleeve.
