An interconnect 10 for solid oxide fuel cells comprises a separator 30 having a cathode side 68 and an anode side 66, and at least one compliant sheet of material 70, 72 associated with one or both of the cathode side 68 and the anode side 66 of the separator 30. The anode side 66 is associatable with an anode of a first adjacent cell. The cathode side 68 is associatable with a cathode of a second adjacent cell. The (or each) compliant sheet of material 70, 72 electrically and mechanically connects the respective anode or cathode with the respective side 66, 68 of the separator 30. |
