A method for optimizing a characteristic of a control parameter in a control module for ordinary control for determining an output related to an operation amount of a control subject according to specified input information using an optimization technique by heuristics. A change in the characteristic of the control subject obtained from the control parameter is made to correspond to the change in or kind of an expressing object simulating an associable object, and the characteristic of the control subject obtained with the control parameter in the course of optimization process is replaced with the expressing object and displayed to a user.
