road building machinery. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to snow compactors to be used at snow- and-ice road building at Northern areas. Device has two articulated sections if form of frames with fitted-on skis. Hinge joint provides independent displacement of sections relative to each other in vertical plane. Length of ski of section and its weight exceed those of first section ski. Two stabilizers are mounted on second section frame for holding sweep on bed of road under building. Device improves compaction of snow-and-ice coating owing to change of forces applied by compacting member of first and second sections onto surface to be compacted in specific pressure and duration of application. EFFECT: increased intensity and improved compaction of snow-and-ice coating.
