PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a griddle capable of reducing cooking time and allowing an unskilled person to cook satisfactorily. SOLUTION: An iron plate 3 is heated with the flame 2 of a burner 1 and a material to be cooked such as a stuffed dumpling put on the iron plate 3 is cooked. Exhaust gas of the burner is guided to a cooking chamber 4 and the material to be cooked is heated from above by convection. The exhaust gas having passed the cooking chamber 4 is discharged from an exhaust pipe 6. A steam generator 7 is heated with heat of a combustion chamber to generate steam. The generated steam is blown to the cooking chamber 4 and the material to be cooked is heated also by steam. Since the material to be cooked is heated also by the steam generated by the steam generator 7, the material such as a stuffed dumpling can be evenly fried without requiring special skills.
