PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a green coated glass base plate which hardly damps light and is useful for an edge light in which light is emitted from the free end edge of a glass base plate. SOLUTION: This green coated glass base plate is obtained by forming a metal oxide coating film comprising amorphous metal oxides and crystalline metal oxides on the surface of a glass base plate. The amorphous metal oxides comprise silicon oxide and titanium oxide. The crystalline metal oxides comprise cobalt oxide, chromium oxide, and at least one metal oxide selected from nickel oxide, zinc oxide and neodymium oxide. Therein, gold particles are dispersed in the metal oxide coating film.
