PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate the anchor effect quickly and certainly. SOLUTION: A downforce type anchor comprises a foundation, a pair of flakes 15 in the shape of flat plate protruding from the two sides of the foudation in the horizontal direction, a shank 11 whose base end is coupled with the foundation, and an attitude restricting rod 25 provided in the foundation part, wherein the foundation part includes a supporting base board 16 in flat shape consisting of a front part and a tail part having an upper edge and a lower edge extending first vertically to the reference surface on which the flakes are stretching and inclined outward as going back and a pair of submerging guide plates 17 fixed to the inclining top edge and bottom edge of the tail part of the supporting base board. The submerging guide plate has a tail part bent in the direction approaching the reference surface and has a bent tail 17c inclined inward.
