PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact hydrostatic hub drive device of high output by providing a torque transmission means on both ends of a rotary rod in which a cylinder drum of an axial piston motor has an outer support part, and is coupled with a transmission through the rotary rod. SOLUTION: An axial piston motor 5 has a cylinder drum 7 on the side closer to transmission, and an adjustable and reversible swash plate 8 on the side farther from a drive device. A rotary rod 17 provided with a torque transmission member on both end parts couples the axial piston motor 5 with the transmission device 6, and at the same time, is inserted in the transmission device 6 on one end part and into the cylinder drum 7 on the other end. The torque transmission member on the transmission device 6 side of the rotary rod 17 is formed as a sun gear 17a of the transmission device 6. The diameter of the rotary rod 17 can be considerably reduced compared with the diameter of a driven shaft.
