PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed and high-resolution magnetic printer which is applicable both to monochromatic and full color usage. SOLUTION: The magnetic printer has a micro magnetic head array 102 supported by a supporting body, a power source for selectively supplying power to each element of the micro magnetic head array 102, and a toner development device 105 for developing a magnetic image formed to each element of the micro magnetic head array 102. The power source selectively supplies power to each element of the micro magnetic head array 102, thereby forming a digital magnetic latent image. The magnetic latent image is developed by the toner development device 105 with use of a magnetic toner, and the toner image is transferred onto a transfer medium and fixed. The printer forms images in this process.
