PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adsorption-remove the aldehydes generated by decomposition of hazardous materials by the photocatalyst effect of a photoreactive semiconductor and the aldehydes released from new building materials, etc., or into the living environment by preparing a deodorant from at least the photoreactive semiconductor and an amine attached active carbon. SOLUTION: At the time of the manufacture of the deodorant which can act as a removing agent for the hazardous material under the various use environments, the photoreactive semiconductor, the amine attached active carbon and, if necessary, a carrier are mixed with water. The flocculated composite of the photoreactive semiconductor, the amine attached active carbon and the carrier is then formed by using a flocculating agent or is dried to a granular form or is so prepared as to have the strength of adhesion at the time of coating/drying by mixing a binder therewith. As a result, the hazardous materials, such as malodorous materials and bacteria, are decomposed away and the neutralization and removal of various kinds of the aldehydes and acids generated by the decomposition of the hazardous materials are made possible. The generation of the malodors occurring in the acids and the corrosion of peripheral apparatus may be prevented. |
