PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an optimal harmonic image by varying the speed of ultrasound by an intracorporeal medium for which an harmonic image is going to be obtained in treating ultrasonic signals sent to a human body and reflected from the human body. SOLUTION: In carrying out radiographing, of the speed of ultrasound associated with an intracorporeal medium, the speed of ultrasound most suited to the intracorporeal medium for which a harmonic image is to be obtained is selected on a control panel 51. Subsequently, transmission pulses associated with a selected speed of ultrasound and a set frequency are applied to a probe 54, ultrasonic signals are sent into a human body, and reflected signals from the human body are received with a receiving section 55. From the received signals, harmonic signals associated with sent ultrasound are separated, and then from signals converged in the reception convergence section 55, a digital signal processing section 57 executes processing to obtain an harmonic image and the harmonic image is displayed on a display section 58. |
