PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat-resistant coating material effective for suppressing the high-temperature corrosion deterioration and thermal deterioration of a hot part made of e.g. a metal in an exhaustion flue tube, etc., with a simple method, applicable even to a part having complicate shape and having high adhesivity to a substrate by including a polysilane and a heat-resistant inorganic compound. SOLUTION: The objective material contains (A) a polysilane, (B) a heat- resistant inorganic compound and preferably further at least one kind of component selected from (C) an epoxy resin and (D) a silicone resin. Preferably, a mixture containing the component A and the component B is subjected to heat- treatment at >=500 deg.C or a mixture containing the component A, the component B and at least one of the component C and the component D is subjected to heat-treatment at >=500 deg.C. The component A is preferably a straight-chain polysilane or cyclic polysilane, etc., having a skeleton structure expressed by formula (R12Si)m (R1 is H, an alkyl or the like; (m) is 2-10,000).
