PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent stresses from concentrating on four corners during the compression of a squeegee, and also prevent the occurrence of stagnation of printing paste at the four corners, and allow printing paste to be readily removed after the completion of printing, and enable a printing screen to be cleaned positively by forming the four corners of an inside opening of a screen retaining frame into substantial arcuation shape. SOLUTION: The four corners of an inside opening 1 of a screen retaining frame Al is formed into substantial arcuation. In this way, since stresses generated on gauze S can be prevented from locally concentrating and affecting at compressing a printing screen during printing, the gauze S can be prevented from locally stretching, and also the printing screen can be prevented from being deteriorated in its printing accuracy. Furthermore, there never develop stagnation of printing paste at the four corners. In addition, inasmuch as cleaning can be positively conducted from corner to corner because of ready cleaning, there is no solidification of paste due to cleaning failure, and therefore, the occurrence of printing failure can be prevented.
