PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject apparatus capable of arbitrarily setting the amount and range of spraying of a refrigerant and efficiently and certainly freezing foods to be frozen by bringing an apparatus for freezing foods to spray the refrigerant to the foods to be frozen to have a specific structure. SOLUTION: In an apparatus for quickly freezing foods by spraying a refrigerant for freezing to foods 11 to be frozen conveyed by a conveyor 12 and freezing them, the conveyor 12 for conveying the foods 11 to be frozen and a freezing refrige rant-spray means 13 locating above the conveyor 12 are installed in a heat insulated tunnel 10. The spraying means 13 consists of a rectangular box-shaped spray header 15 having several spray nozzles 14 on its under surface and a refrigerant feed line 16 for feeding the freezing refrigerant into the spray header. The spray header 15 has a width dimension corresponding to that of the conveyor 12 and is a hallow body having a predetermined length in the longitudinal (transporting) direction of the conveyor 12.
