PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a vinyl or cloth pouch with small holes in which cut spent copper wires of wire electric discharge machines are enclosed as an insect pest exterminator, because conventional liquid exterminators are immediately carried away in rainwater or the like and so can not last the effect though liquid exterminators have hitherto been used in many cases as exterminators against insect pests, e.g. slugs, snails or the like, for flower and ornamental plants. SOLUTION: This insect pest exterminator is obtained by enclosing spent copper wires 2 for wire electric discharge machine which are cut into about 3 cm length in a vinyl or cloth pouch 1 with small holes. By using this insect pest exterminator, flower and ornamental plants can be protected from insect pests over a long period of time and further it is effective for newly recycling spent copper wires for wire electric discharge machine.
