PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gatepost which enhances the landscape of a town and imparts peace of mind and a full of feeling not only to neighboring residents but also to passers-by. SOLUTION: A place for installing planters and rectangular recessed openings 21 are formed at specified positions of the upper face 11a of each gatepost 11. Rectangular openings 23 having almost the same size with a stone masonry- pattern of the gatepost 11 are formed at specified positions of the front face 11b of each gatepost 11. Housing pockets 25 for the planters are removably installed through a rotary axis at the lower edges of the pockets. The planter 31 is rectangular in plan and made thin as it goes down. The planter 31 is formed to have a shape similar to the housing pocket 25 so as to be contained in the housing 28 for planters.
