PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently convey an article, or to store the article by providing a connecting means to connect stays to each other so that an interval between two stays adjacent to each other is adjustable, and forming a step capable of inserting an article support member on an article placement surface of a pallet and a pallet portion other than the article placement surface. SOLUTION: An article conveyance and storage device has four stays 6, and fitted to a pallet 2 at four corners of the pallet 2 in an attachable/ detachable manner in a substantially perpendicularly erected condition with respect to an article placement surface 5. It is provided with a connecting means having joints 8, 9 and connection members 14, 15 to connect two stays 6 to each other so that an interval between two stays 6 adjacent to each other is adjustable. A step H in which an article support member of an article elevating/lowering device is inserted is formed on the article placement surface 5 of the pallet 2 and an upper surface 35 of both leg parts 4 between pedestal members 3. Articles of any size can be efficiently conveyed and stored, and smoothly unloaded onto the pallet 2.
