摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject scavenger which can catch, hold and release metal ions and thereby recover such metal ions in a solution through changing a photochromic state by constituting a specific calixarene. SOLUTION: This scavenger is obtained by constituting a calixarene with >=2 residues of photochromic spiropyran compounds bound thereto. The scavenger is e.g. a compound of formula I (R1 is a residue of photochromic spiropyran compound or a 1-5C alkyl; R2 is a residue of photochromic spiropyran compound, OH or a 1-5C alkoxy, wherein R1 and/or R2 are/is residue(s) of photochromic spiropyran compound; R3 is a lower alkylene; n is 4-8). The residue of photochromic spiropyran compound is a group of formula II (Z is a bivalent organic group which can directly or indirectly bound to the calixarene).
