摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a desiliconizing method, with which the slag removing time of desiliconized slag is shortened, the metal loss mixed in the slag in the removal of slag is reduced and the productivity of a ferromanganese alloy is improved. SOLUTION: An oxidizing agent consisting essentially of manganese oxide and metal aluminum and/or an aluminum compound are blended so that the ratio (Al)/(O) of the aluminum content: (Al) wt.% in a desiliconizing agent to oxygen content: (O) wt.% contributed to the desiliconizing reaction in this desiliconizing agent satisfies 0<(Al)/(O)<=0.2×(71/16)/(102/54). The desiliconizing agent quantity supplied into the molten ferromanganese alloy is adjusted so that the ratio (X/Y) of oxygen supplying quantity X contributed to the desiliconizing reaction in the desiliconizing agent and the necessary oxygen quantity Y to oxidize the total quantity of Si contained in molten ferromanganese alloy becomes in the range of 0.5-4, and the desiliconized slag is melted.
