PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely decide the presence and absence of printing not depending on printing density by projecting an inclined character pattern formed by inclining a character pattern obtained by being scanned by a licenser in the longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: For example, a licenser runs to read the picture elements of 8 bits by one main scanning operation, and one line by 5 scans, and, at first, scanned data obtained by scanning operation of a line sensor is stored in a buffer memory. Subsequently, every time of taking in a scan data of a constant unit quantity of 8 bits into a register from the buffer memory, a previous state is shifted in the right direction for one picture element by the turn to make a shift data in which characters contained in the scan data are deformed into inclined characters. After that, the shift data every constant unit quantity of 8 bits shifted respectively is put into a theoretical sum (OR). Also, a comparison is made with reference to a counted value obtained by counting the bit of '1' in the OR data and standard value, and then a decision is made as to whether a line scanned by the licensor is the one having printing or not. |
