PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming apparatus which can prevent image quality deterioration even when defective elements are present in a light-emitting element array. SOLUTION: A light quantity controlling part 7 controls a quantity of emission light of laser elements 2a in the vicinity of defective elements in accordance with the defective elements which fail to emit light among a plurality of laser elements 2a of a surface emitting two-dimensional laser array 2. A memory means is provided for dividing a plurality of light spots to a plurality of areas and storing the number of defective spots by the defective elements among a plurality of light spots for each area. |
