PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously and correctly form a coated film on the surface of a long sheet to be an objective thickness. SOLUTION: This controller for a thickness of a coated film has a constitution gradually narrowing a breadth of insensitive zoneΔY0 controlling a range of a standard deviation of a film thickness without performing a gap operation according to a state of a control system for passing of a time in a prescribed time ta. Therefore, when a thickness variation at an initiation of coating is large (for a prescribed time ta), a breadth of the insensitive zoneΔY0 is rather broaden and in a coating stabilizing time that the film thickness variation is narrowed after passing a prescribed time ta, and in the coating stabilizing time, a thickness of an adhesive agent film can be correctly formed to the objection while avoiding a hunting (fluttering) phenomenon of the control system at initiation of the coating.
