PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the content of inorganic minerals by making microorganisms act on vegetable raw materials or carbonized ones to solving out metal contents and remove it. SOLUTION: By making microorganisms such as Bacillus subtilis, Rhizopus arrhizus and Thiothrix Strain act on vegetable raw materials or their carbides obtained by the preliminary carbonization of vegetable raw materials in a heated state at 300-800 deg.C (preferably at 400-700 deg.C) under vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere and then by the leaching treatment, carbonized vegetable raw materials having the inorganic mineral content of 0.1-5.0 wt.% are obtained. Carbon materials are obtained by processing the carbonized vegetable raw materials as follows: heating the carbonized vegetable raw materials up to 700-3,000 deg.C (preferably 800-2,000 deg.C) at >=1 deg.C/min (preferably >=3 deg.C/min) heating rate under vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere and then retaining the product for 0-10 h. (preferably 0-7 h.). |
