HALOGEN-CONTAINING ORGANIC COMPOUND DECOMPOSING CATALYST AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFYING METHOD USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject catalyst having high DXNs decomposing activity in the coexistence of ammonia in order to simultaneously perform the denitration with ammonia and the decomposition of DXNs. SOLUTION: A catalyst for decomposing a halogen-containing org. compd. in exhaust gas containing ammonia and the halogen-containing org. compd. contains oxides of titanium, vanadium and tin as main components. Since it is unnecessary to individually provide a denitration catalyst device and a DXNs decomposing catalyst device and exhaust gas can be efficiently purified from the inlet side of a catalyst bed high in the concn. of ammonia after ammonia is injected, the amt. of the catalyst can be reduced and a high DXNs decomposition rate can be obtained.
