PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus capable of efficiently executing an operation of filling with an ink a sub tank movable with a carriage. SOLUTION: A float member 3 to come up according to an ink stored in a sub tank 1, and a pressure reduction controlling means for controlling the atmospheric pressure in the sub tank 1 by opening or closing a valve member 6 communicating with a pressure reduction pump 35 according to movement of the float member 3 are disposed. Therefore, the sub tank 1 in the pressure reduction state can be filled with an ink from a main ink tank 31 quickly. In the case the sub tank 1 is filled with the ink to a predetermined liquid level, the ink filling operation can be stopped certainly according to the operation of the float member 3. |
