<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dissolve the generation of hammering sound at a rack support part and to set mesh between rack teeth of a rack shaft and a pinion to a proper degree by supporting the rack shaft to a gear housing through a rack adaptor, and making a fitting angle position around an outer peripheral support part of the rack adaptor adjustable. SOLUTION: In order to adjust mesh between rack teeth 12A of a rack shaft 12 and a pinion 26, the rack shaft 12 is supported to a gear housing 11 through a rack adaptor 30, and the rack adaptor 30 is provided with a circular outer peripheral support part 35 fitted into a support hole 34 of the gear housing 11, and a circular inner peripheral support part 36 for supporting the rack shaft 12 through a bush 13. At this time, the support center O2 of the inner peripheral support part 36 is eccentrically disposed by an amount of eccentricity (e) with respect to the support center O1 of the outer peripheral support part, and a fitting hole 30A for a bolt 32 provided at a flange 31 of the rack adaptor 30 is formed in oblong hole shape so that a fitting angle position around the support center O1 of the outer peripheral support part 35 is adjustable.</p> |
