CARDIAC GATED TYPE CT SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging system which improves the quality of picture by syncronizing the X-ray irradiation and the data collection to a heart cycle. SOLUTION: This imaging system utilizes a synchronization unit which determines a heart beating period while controlling the generation of X-ray beams during the selected period. When the X-ray beam is emitted toward a detector 18, data is collected for at a certain view angle. As the heart continues to cycle, data for a series of view angles are collected to form an image of the heart during the selected period.
