PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of bromide ion while keeping disinfection and sterilization by using a DC voltage control structure for impressing to electrodes and a detecting structure for detecting the concentration of ozone in water to be treated to control the concentration of ozone to equal to or below a specific value. SOLUTION: A dissolved ozone concentration meter using a diaphragm type polarographic electrode is used as the ozone concentration detecting structure 15 and the voltage for impressing an anode and a cathode is controlled by the output potential from the detecting structure 15 in accordance with the ozone concentration. In such a case, the large change of the ozone concentration with the change of temp. is suppressed by detecting the temp. of water 7 to be treated by a temp. sensor 51 and using a DC voltage control structure 21 capable of correcting the impressed voltage with a temp. correction functional part 50. Thus, the dissolved ozone is controlled to a low concentration of <=10μg/l and, as a result, the long term storage of drinking water having sufficient sterilizing power and free from the generation of bromide ion is attained. |
