PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the hydrodesulfurization of light oil fraction so as to ensure the sulfur content of the resultant desulfurized light oil to be <=200 wt.ppm. SOLUTION: This method for the hydrodesulfurization of light oil fraction comprises placing the 1st reaction zone with 5-95 vol.% of a catalyst with a group VI, VII, IX or X metal carried on a support containing metal-bearing zeolite and placing the 2nd, reaction zone with a 2nd catalyst with a group VI, VII, IX or X metal carried on a 2nd support of noncrystalline inorganic oxide and then performing a hydrodesulfurizing operation.
