METHOD AND FACILITY FOR JUDGING TERMITE-PROOF PERFORMANCE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a facility enabling the judgment of termite- proof performance to be easily carried out based on the ecology of termites in the real field. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following steps: (1) forming a primary subcolony in a facility 10 for judging termite-proof performance by placing a primary guiding and feeding area 11 in the facility 10 so as to guide termites inhabiting a termite colony; (2) attaching food to which termites have clung to an object 12 to be judged which is placed in the facility 10; (3) judging the termite-proof performance of the object 12 by evaluating the presence or absence and the degree of the traffic of termites between the object 12 and the primary subcolony; (4) guiding termites into the facility 10 by placing termites collected near the facility 10 in the area 11; (5) evaluating the presence or absence and the degree of the traffic of termites by observing termite tunnels formed in the object 12 as a result of the traffic of termites.
