PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic buffer comfortable to ride on. SOLUTION: An elastic body 17 contracts when a stroke of a piston rod 1 extends, and a top part 16a of a cup body 16 pressurizes a second spring 14 through a third spring bearing 19a. Pressurizing force of the second spring 14 pressurizes a disc valve 22 on the contracting side through a fourth spring bearing 19b. At this point of time, in the case when the piston rod 1 is reversed to the contracting side, size of damping force is decided by the second spring 14, a contracting side orifice 21 and the contracting side disc valve 22, and as pressurizing force of the second spring 22 becomes larger and injection-valve opening pressure of the contracting side disc valve 22 rises, large damping force is generated and sudden contraction of the piston rod is avoided.
