PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction caused by an unfitted state of connectors of an electronic control unit. SOLUTION: An electronic control unit(ECU)1 receives and sends signals through connectors C1 to C3. The connectors C1 to C3 are each composed of a pair of male and female parts. Two unused terminals are short-circuitted at male connectors 6, 7, 8 via short-circuitting lines 12, 13, 14. The short- circuitting lines 12 to 14 are serially connected to each other by wirings 25 to 28, in the state that the connectors C1 to C3 are in fitted states. A connector watching device 23 senses such line formation. When the line is not formed and at least one of the connectors is not the fitted stte, a CPU is suspended by means of an AND circuit.
