PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable power work machine wherein clogging of an air cleaner provided in a suction line of a small air-cooled internal combustion engine mounted as a power source for driving a work part can be reduced and hence the necessity having to frequently clean the air cleaner can be obviated. SOLUTION: A dust-separation air-guiding means 50 is provided between the vicinity of a cooling fan 25 and a carburetor chamber 40, wherein dust K is separated from the air by utilizing the flow thereof, and the clean air, from which the dust K is removed, is delivered into the chamber 40, while the dust K is drawn into the fan 25.
