METHOD OF CONTINUOUSLY CASTING STEEL STRIP

PURPOSE: A method is provided to suppress a high frequency chatter defect produced at a high casting speed while controlling manganese content and silicon content of the steel. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of allowing a casting pool of molten metal to be supported onto one or more casting surfaces which are chilled to cause solidification of steel on the casting surfaces, and moving the casting surface so as to produce a solidified strip moving from the casting pool, wherein each of casting surfaces is textured by an irregular pattern of a ridge with sharp peak, the strip moves the casting pool at a temperature of 60m or higher per minute, and the molten steel is composed of manganese content of 0.6 weight % and silicon content of 0.1 to 0.35 weight %.
