PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a material for a secondary lithium ion battery is provided to manufacture a secondary lithium ion battery which has a flat discharging potential characteristics and an excellent cycle characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A material particle mixture of a boron composition and a carbon material is heated until the carbon material is carbonated. The temperature of the particle temperature is raised in an inert atmosphere rapidly. The carbon structure is change to a black lead structure by the heating. Then, the particle mixture is rapidly cooled. According to the method for manufacturing a material for a secondary lithium ion battery, a secondary lithium ion battery, which has a flat discharging potential characteristics and excellent cycle characteristics can be manufactured.
