<p>PURPOSE: A light illuminating device and a projector device are provided to increase the output power of the light illuminating device without reducing the efficiency of the device. CONSTITUTION: A light illuminating device includes an optical source(20), a magnification adjustment optical system(30), an overlap optical system(50), and a polarization conversion system(40). The illumination system according to the present invention illuminates the optical incident surface of the optical device. The optical source(20) emits light which is not polarized. The magnification adjustment optical system(30) varies the size of the optical beam emitted from the optical source. The overlap optical system(50) changes the illumination on the illumination region by the incident light beam. The polarization conversion system(40) is provided along with an optical path from the incident surface of the optical system to an outer surface of the overlap optical system so as to emit a light which is converted into a light with a linearly polarized portion.</p> |
