PURPOSE: A functional roll film and a vacuum evaporator for producing such film are provided to accomplish a superior gas barrier properties and printability. CONSTITUTION: A functional roll film which is transparent comprises an inorganic oxide layer at one or more surfaces, and a plastic film taken up in roll shape, wherein the maximum thickness of the inorganic oxide layer is 1.5 times or less than the minimum thickness of the inorganic oxide layer. An apparatus comprises a vacuum chamber(6) for travel of a long plastic film, a material retaining unit having a thin section member for classifying vapor deposition material in order to retain the vapor deposition material, and an electron gun(4) as a heating member for heating and evaporating the vapor deposition material. The section member is disposed at an angle substantially same as an incidence angle of an electronic beam radiated from the electron gun. |
