PURPOSE: A detergent cosmetic composition is provided, for cleansing, caring, conditioning and/or styling keratin materials such as hair. CONSTITUTION: A detergent cosmetic composition comprises cosmetically acceptable media; 4-50 wt% of detergent base; 0.01-10 wt% of at least one cationic polymer; and 0.05-10 wt% of at least one water-soluble anionic polycondensate containing at least one polyurethane and/or polyurea block. The detergent base is anionic surfactants, amphiphilic surfactants, nonionic surfactants or their mixture. The polycondensate is prepared by block arrangement of (1) at least one compound containing two or more active hydrogen atoms per molecule; (2) at least one diol, or diol mixture containing acid radical or its salt; and (3) at least one di- or polyisocyanate. Preferably the compound (1) is selected from the group consisting of diols, diamines, polyesterols, polyetherols and their mixture, and the compound (2) is 2,2-hydroxymethylcarboxylic acid. More preferably the cationic polymer is selected from quaternary cellulose ether derivatives, cyclopolymer, cationic polysaccharide, vinyl pyrrolidone/methacrylamidopropyldimethylamine copolymer and their mixture. The pH of the composition is preferably 4-9.
