PURPOSE: A color liquid crystal display device is provided to prevent the liquid crystal layer from being contaminated by a pollutant from the outside so as to improve the image quality. CONSTITUTION: A color liquid crystal display device includes a color filter substrate(2), an alignment electrode substrate(3), a sealing member(4), a liquid crystal layer(5), and a blocking member(14). The color filter substrate(2) is formed on a display region on a transparent substrate. The alignment electrode substrate(3) is implemented with a predetermined spacing on the color filter substrate. The sealing member(4) seals the gap between the two substrates. The liquid crystal layer(5) is formed between the first and second substrates. The blocking member(14) consists a material with the voltage sustain ratio greater than 80% and a residue direct voltage less than 0.5V.
