PURPOSE: An X.509 certificate extensions for simultaneous supports are provided to devise stronger communication security by extending X.509 certificate while accepting existing SET algorithm. CONSTITUTION: X.509 certificate extensions(72, 74) includes a signature algorithm and a signature with respect to all authenticated attributes using a first encryption and an algorithm, alternative public key extensions of verifying at least one alternative encryption algorithm and of providing a public key related to the alternative encryption algorithm, and alternative signature extensions including a signature with respect to the alternative encryption algorithm. The first encryption algorithm is the RSA and the alternative encryption algorithm is an elliptic curve.
