PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition for coating capable of obtaining a hard film, easy to obtain a thick-film, excellent in weatherability, storing stability or the like and also adherence and alkali resistance by including a specific organosilane constituent and a semiconductor constituent having photocatralytic activity. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. of one or more compounds selected from the organosilane expressed by formula: R1Si(OR2)3 (R1 is a 1-5C alkyl, a 1-6C acyl or phenyl; R2 is H, a 1-8C organic group), a hydrolyzate or condensate of the prescribed organosilane, (B) 5-1,000 pts. of one or more compounds selected from compound expressed by formula (R3 and R6 are each H or a 1-8C monovalent organic group; R4 and R5 are each H or a 1-8C monovalent organic group; p and q are each 0 or 1; m is 2-100); a hydrolyzate or condensate of the prescribed compound and (C) 1-500 pts. of the photocatalyst to the 100 pts. of the constituent (A) in solid base.
