PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the best productivity and operability of the system by interrupting reading of an original when the system detects that a residual storage capacity of a 1st storage means decreases to a prescribed capacity or below, generating an image from up to picture data that have been read, and interrupting transfer of data and reading only the picture when a residual storage capacity of a 2nd storage means decreases to a prescribed capacity. SOLUTION: In the case of outputting an image, the system reads picture data stored in a primary storage device 85, when the picture being an output object is stored in the primary storage device 85, a primary compression/ expansion 82 expands the picture data, an output data selector 83 selects the data after expansion or data resulting from compositing the data after the expansion with received data and the selected data are outputted. When the object picture is not stored in the primary storage device 85, output object picture data stored in a secondary storage device 85 are expanded by a secondary compression/expansion 84, the data after expansion are written in the primary storage device 85 and the picture is outputted. |
