PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify transportation conditions and transport office work and to make easily calculable the transport quantity of articles by determining the longitudes and latitudes of a sending destination and a sending source from the telephone numbers or zip codes of the sending destination and sending source and obtaining the transport distance of the articles from the sending source to the sending destination from their longitudes and latitudes. SOLUTION: A freight calculating program 23a calls a longitude and latitude retrieving program 23b and refers to a telephone number-to-longitude and latitude table 26a or a zip code-to-longitude and latitude table 26b according to the zip codes or telephone numbers of the sending source and sending destination, thereby obtaining the longitudes and latitudes of the sending source and sending destination respectively. Then, a distance calculating program is called to refer to a GPS map information database 26c according to the two points of the sending source and sending destination, thereby obtaining the transport distance and transport route. Special charge for freeway, ship transportation, etc., is obtained by referring to a passing route special table 26d according to the transport route, thereby calculating the freight. |
