PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide combustion equipment capable of both of instantaneous firing and stable continued combustion. SOLUTION: In combustion equipment there are provided a firing air hole 6 for supplying a small quantity of primary air suitable for firing to the neighbourhood of a firing point X as an air hole for blowing out combustion air into a combustion chamber 1, and a primary air hole 7 disposed more downstream than the firing point X for supplying a large amount of secondary air. The firing air hole 6 and the primary air hole 7 are obtained by connecting a piping branched from an air pump 3, and there is provided a pressure opening/ closing valve 8 between a branch point Y and the primary air hole 7 for closing the primary air hole 7 upon instantaneous firing. Upon starting a small amount of primary air suitable for firing is supplied from the firing air hole 6 to the neighbourhood of the firing point X at an initial stage of building-up of the air pump 3 (when there is a slight flow rate) so that instantaneous firing is allowed, and as the building-up flow rate of the air pump 3 is increased, secondary air is supplied from the primary air hole 7 to the combustion chamber 1 to ensure stable continuous combustion.
