PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote supervisory system that can surely record a camera image of an area that is a substantial supervisory object so long as the site devices (camera system) are available in operation even when a transmission line for supervision is cut by a disaster or the like. SOLUTION: When a camera control section 16 detects a fault in a transmission line, the control section 16 outputs a fault discrimination signal of the transmission line to a video recording control section 17. Upon the receipt of the fault discrimination signal of the transmission line, the video recording control section 17 transmits a start command to a video recorder 18. The video recorder 18 receiving the start command starts video recording and records a video image before and after the start including the video image photographed by an ITV camera 21 just before the start.
