PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate recovery work, failure analysis and repair work even when a fault takes places in a system 1 consists of many modules and units. SOLUTION: This equipment fault managing device is provided with fault information detecting and recording means 20 and 21 which detect and record fault information in modules and units 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11, a fault cause specifying means 24b which decides a module and a unit where the fault takes places on the basis of the fault information detected by the means 20 and 21 and specifies a fault cause, a fault cause transmitting means 25b which transmits fault cause information specified by the means 24b to the module and unit decided as ones where the fault has occurred, a fault cause recording means 22 which records the fault cause information specified by the means 24b in the module and unit decided as the ones where the fault has occurred, and a displaying means 10 which shows fault information detected by the means 22 and the fault cause information detected by the means 24b.
