PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain spent fuel storage racks maintaining well the pitch accuracy between fuel storage cells, improving density with easy assembling and reducing the production cost and its production method. SOLUTION: In a spent fuel storage rack consisting by combining in a grid shape a plurality of first grid plates 2 placing a projection 7 at the end, and a plurality of second grid plates 3 placing a notch 6 for inserting the projection 7, at least one of the first grid plate 2 and the second grid plate 3 is fabricated by non-oxidizing laser cutting.
