PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change monitoring addresses without stopping a target system in a debugging device capable of monitoring the content of a part of a memory area on address space during program operation and also setting a memory monitoring address. SOLUTION: A monitoring controlling part 13 prevents a monitor memory 12 from being updated before monitoring the memory access information of a CPU part 3. Next, an address mapper 9 is set to an address to be monitored to make an updation information memory 11 a 'false' state showing that data are not updated. The part 13 makes the memory 12 a state in which the memory 12 is updated by the operation of the part 3. Thus, when the part 3 reads and writes an area desired to be monitored, read/written data are written in a target memory 2. In such a case, the memory corresponding to the address to which the data are written is made a 'true' state showing that the data are updated.
