PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe battery with an excellent overcharging resistance even when overcharging by using a metal oxide active material chargeable at a specific voltage or more by a Li standard for a positive electrode, using a carbon material or a Li-includible material for a negative electrode, and using trioxane or its derivative in an electrolyte. SOLUTION: A metal oxide active material such as LiCo2, LiNiO2, LiMn2O chargeable at 4.2 V or more is used for a positive electrode, while trioxane or its derivative shown by the formula is included in an electrolyte. In the formula, R1 to R6 represent each H or a 1-3C alkyl group. As a suitable example for tioxane, 2-methyl-1,3,5-trioxane,2,2-dimethyl-1,3,5-trioxane or the like is available. A content of trioxane or its derivative in the electrolyte is 0.05-10 wt.% desirably. Any of a liquid electrolyte, a gel electrolyte and a solid electrolyte can be usable as the electrolyte. |
